Top 5 Things To See In Paris.. After the Top 10!

Top 5 Things To See In Paris When You’ve Been There, Done That -

Place de la République -

Go and pay a visit to the embodiment of the French Republic, Marianne! She represents the permanent values of the Republic: "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity". This is a real locals Place or square. Great sporting goods store for fans of Les Bleus on one corner, a book shop chock full of goodies even if you don’t read French.. like Tintin and Asterix books, classics even if just for the illustrations. Plus, there is excellent people watching from numerous cafés surrounding, and my absolute favorite crepe stand in the city. Don’t sleep on this one!

Street Art of Canal St. Martin -

From Place de la République, you’re in prime walking distance of the Canal with some excellent street art. Stroll roughly NE on Rue du Faubourg du Temple until you reach the Canal, then take a left and hop down canal side. This once gritty neighborhood has turned hipster. Beyond the street art, you’ll find unique, hip shops in the neighborhood, and canalside brasseries and bars that have a super fun, youthful vibe. Can it still be a little gritty? At times, sure. But in summer it’s part of the Paris Plage initiative where the beach literally comes to the city so it’s worth the walk.

La Defense -

What? Go to the business district? Yep! Hop on the Metro Ligne 1 straight to the end of the line to La Defense. Snap some fun pics where it looks like you’re holding up the inside of the giant, hollow cube building with your pinkie finger, then keep walking. In summer, the modern art installations are worth the trek down.

Find all 5 Statue of Libertys -

Fun fact, there are mini replica Statue of Libertys scattered all over the city! Take a scavenger hunt through the city stopping at any cafe that draws you in along the way. Hint, your first one is not far from Place de la République!

Locks of Love Bridge -

If you’re traveling with your someone special, why not indulge this fun little ritual. Lock on a padlock to the Pont des Arts just behind the Louvre and toss the key into the Seine. It’ll join the million + of them there and you’ll leave a piece of your hearts forever in the City of Light.
