I was lucky enough to experience Europe via a river cruise. This particular river cruise journeyed through Germany, Switzerland, and France. During my stay, I learned that the ease and convenience of river cruising are unlike any other.

A river cruise puts you right in the heart of authentic European cities. During my week-long stay, I explored the Black Forest in Hamburg, Germany.  Next, I visited cultural wonders like various cathedrals and architecture in Switzerland and France.

In North America, many cruise companies offer trips to New England, the Pacific Northwest, and Alaska. Choosing a more local river cruise line can save you a bundle without sacrificing the perks.
