50+ Travelers Move by Water: What floats the boat?

Busy port day with several ships.

Grandma, Grandpa, and Great Aunt Lucy are no longer staying in the neighborhood.  Today's seniors are an active, inquisitive bunch.  They are taking adventure, cultural, culunary, and inspirational trips around the world.  All of those places that there was limited or no access as they grew up are accessible now--mostly.

China was just a place in books and in newsreels of the past.  It was not open for US travelers from 1949 until the 70's.  Cuba was opened for travel for the first time to Americans during the Obama presidency.  Other former Soviet Union territories opened for American travelers after the fall of the Berlin Wall and fall of the USSR.

Many people 50+ did not take to travel in their earlier years due to commitments to work, family, and community.  Now is the time for the 50+ community to venture out.

What is there to do?  There are cruises to almost everywhere and for all budgets.  Take a short 2 to 5 day cruise to the Caribbean, along the coasts, or repositioning to learn what there is to offer.  There are shipboard activities, games, and entertainment.  There are ports of call to explore.  Also, there is pampering and relaxation.  Something for everyone.

Cruises can be very formal or casual.  Some cruises have many activities and are suited for the 50+ who is traveling with children or grandchildren. There are activities for all or quiet and solitude to just rest and enjoy the moment.

One of my favorite things about cruising is meeting new and old cruising friends. Another like is that I can use a cruise to reach a destination, such as a transatlantic, or transpacific, or river  journey.

The Optimistic Tourist (TOT)  loves all forms of travel, but Cruising is at the head of the line. Now you can do it in TOT fashion by contacting her.
