Pura Vida in Costa Rica
My family and visited Costa Rica for the first time in in 2019, at the urging of my brother. The pura vida way of life is instantly palpable, and makes for an extremely enjoyable vacation!
With our little ones in tow, we picked up our rental car and drove through the country to Playa Conchal for the R&R part of our vacation. The beach at our resort was gorgeous! The water was warm and the sand was soft. My kids spent hours running between the tree line and the ocean, using empty coconuts to build sandcastles and carry water. We enjoyed freshly opened coconuts and purchasing keepsakes from the friendly locals set up on the beach.
After a few days of being pampered and enjoying time together without any distractions, we hopped in our car and drove inland to La Fortuna. We passed many small "sodas" (small, local restaurants), farms and quaint communities. Here we experiences the famous hot springs, took a private coffee tour given by the owner, and ate the most amazing meal of our trip at a soda, which was recommended by a local.
I encourage everyone to visit Costa Rica at least once. The people and culture make this destination a wonderful place to visit. We cannot wait to go back!
