Italy, my Italy! Oh how I love thee!

"Working" the vineyard!

I've had the great fortune to explore Italy in so many different ways. I explored it as a poor college kid, backpacking from city to city, finding unique places to stay, wonderful bites to eat and incredible things to explore. Through those journeys i was able to reach Milan, Venice, Verona, Bologna, Florence, Rome, Naples, Amalfi Coast, Bari, Brindisi and the thing that i say about all of these Italian stops...the people are some of the friendliest and warmest in the world.

I've also had the opportunity to explore Italy in a more luxurious way as well, visiting Genoa, Lucca, Florence, Cinque Terra, Siena, Montalcino, San Gimignano, Porto Ercole and Rome. Incredible hotels, unbelievable art, culture and history, of course to die for food and wine, and conversations with Italians that make me smile when i think back on it.

Out of all of the travel throughout this amazing country, i truly loved exploring it both ways. There's so much to the country and you can have an incredible experience any way.

Some of my highlights from the country...

- Verona. I just love this town. I remember walking through the town, grabbing some food, and bringing it into the Arena di Verona.

- Cinque Terra. Um, wow! You can hike it, bike it, explore the town, sail out from the docks. I just love everything about this little place.

- Montalcino and Montepulciano. I could have stayed here the whole time. This little village is perfect. And hanging out at the little cafe in the middle of town was one of my favorites. And of course, the exploration of vineyards and tasting Brunello, along with a special tasting of limoncello, was one of my favorites.

- Porto Ercole. Il Pelicano was one of the best hotels we stayed at. Right on the sea, it was stunning, with some incredible food and lots of relaxation.

- Florence and Rome. It's hard to explain how much these cities mean to me. They are filled with incredible history, art, culture, food, people and lots of luxury. Enough said!

I can go on and on about Italy. And will be back many more times in my life. Just so much more to explore!
