Grandma, Dad and Kids at Portofino Bay Orlando

Our last trip to Universal was fantastic! My Mom was able to join us and we stayed at Portofino Bay which is a Premiere Resort in Orlando Fl very near the parks. We splurged on a club room and it was really worth the money!

Since there were 5 of us in one room, we requested a roll away bed. These beds are actually very nice. They aren't the usual fold up type and the mattress was very comfortable. I was really impressed. The club level rooms are really large so there was no issue finding room for it.

Portofino is a Premiere Resort which meant we all got Express Pass from the day we checked in until the day we checked out. With our family group it saved us $100s over staying at a Value Resort and buying Express Pass. We were able to nearly walk on almost all of the rides which was really important because my Mom is getting older and I didn't want to wear her out in the heat.

The proximity to the resorts was also key. I LOVE boats and anytime I can take a boat anywhere I'm happy. From Portofino, you can either walk or take a boat to the front of the parks. They accommodated my Mom's mobility scooter beautifully. We also got many Dad jokes along the way which impressed my husband and son and made the rest of us groan out loud.

Club level was great and accommodated my Mom and my gluten free needs. My teen and tween were able to eat their weight in desserts and my husband really enjoyed the included beers, some of which were local.

All in all we had a great time and I cant recommend club level enough!
