Germany

During my return visit to Germany, the first thing that struck me was the beautiful architecture of the buildings. We decided to start our visit in a small city called Ansbach which was where I was stationed in the military many years ago. Wanting to share the hostel experience with my husband we decided to book a space for one night before we left for Berlin the following day. For those who may not know what a hostel is, it is the equivalent of a shared dorm room with strangers along with other shared common areas (yeah not very well thought out on my part). Needless to say, it was an adventure that my husband wanted to have only once in his lifetime. The following day we headed to Berlin where we visited the famous Brandenburg Gate and were amazed by its grandeur. I shared with my husband how I was there when the Berlin Wall was torn down. It seemed kinda funny to see it all gone since the last time I was there it was a bunch of rubble all around. We spent a lot of time exploring the city and trying out the local cuisine. We particularly enjoyed the traditional German sausages and beer along with the amazing Wienerschnitzel. Whether you’re interested in history, culture, or nature, you’ll find plenty to explore. From the bustling cities to the serene countryside, there’s a lot to discover. I would highly recommend visiting Germany to anyone who loves to travel.
