What is the worst thing for you about returning from your vacation adventure? For me, it is not having bills beat me to my door; then, they trickle in to my mailbox over the next three months.

By that time, the thrill of my special adventure—not just that exquisite dinner—has gone by and I wonder what the charge is. The souvenir, on that credit card statement, has been gathering dust or gifted to someone. I think you get the picture.

Many resorts are advertised as All-inclusive, BUT there is always a catch. If you want that lobster or speciality dessert, you will have to add a room charge and sign for it all when you check out of the resort. Then you get that delayed bill for your charges.

A couple of years ago, I went on a river cruise in the U.S.A. and was shocked by the inclusions of the trip. The pre cruise hotel and dinner were included. Tours along the cruise were included. All meals and drinks were included—alcoholic and non-alcoholic. Lobster and steak were on the menu every night and the service was spectacular. What made it almost all- inclusive, gratuities were not included. I prepaid them before we left home and created an all- inclusive cruise.

When we got home, no envelopes with surprise charges arrived in our mail. We were truly free of any more charges for that adventure. Note: This same cruise line now includes gratuities and airfare or air credit. They must have heard my conversations.
