Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady

We took a 5 night cruise out of Miami on Virgin Voyages. We had 2 sailing days, a port stop in Puerto Plata and a full day at the private Beach Club at Bimini in the Bahamas.

We flew in a day early to Miami and stayed at the Hyatt Regency. It was a great location. You can uber easily or use the free city transportation. A Whole Foods is across the street, a CVS a block away and very close to the Bayside market, where you will find everything you need. We walked there before going to the port and had lunch on the water and grabbed a delicious gelato! The night before, we went to Little Havana and had a delicious dinner and hung out in that area. It was a great time! Little Havana is a bit far to walk from this hotel, but it's a quick and inexpensive Uber ride.

I absolutely fell in love with Virgin Voyages adult only approach to cruising! The food was outstanding!!! Everything was absolutely delicious! Since we have cruised before, Virgin matched our Elite level and gave us their Deep Blue Extras, which included additional on board credit, laundry service, premium wifi, priority boarding and $10 credit toward specialty coffees per day. 

From the minute you walk in the terminal, it is clear that Virgin Voyages has a different approach to cruising! The embarkation process was so easy!  The service is unbelievable...you don't feel that the crew is working you for extra tips. They are just generally nice and go out of their way to help you in any way they can! The energy on the ship is great! It's a very positive vibe and very relaxed!

Port stops were a breeze getting on and off the ship. They even greeted us with cold water (which was extremely nice after a hot day in Puerto Plata). 

The Beach Club at Bimini was absolutely beautiful! The water was a bit rough the day we were there, so we mostly hung out around and in the pool. I suggest you get there early if you want a good selection of chairs....especially if you want a covered sunbed.  Cabanas are for rent and there is an exclusive beach area and restaurant for those in Rock Star suites.

Scarlet night was moved inside due to bad weather but it really happens all day.  Expect great decorations and pop up performances around the ship leading up to the event!

Disembarkation was also a breeze!  It was the most enjoyable and least stressful cruise we have taken and we can not wait to do it again! In fact, e are already booked for another in 10 weeks with friends!!
